// Food Scraps & a Lightbox//
Since I started juicing, I’ve been freezing the leftover pulp and other food scraps in my freezer. Today I hopped on my bike and took all the frozen scraps to the Greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza. They have an area where they collect recyclables, clothes items and food scraps. I’m really glad they offer this, because I don’t have time or the knowledge to do my own compost (& its not really on my priority list of things to learn..)

There was so much yummy goodness at the greenmarket, but unfortunately I’m on a tight budget, so I ate some pear samples and took home some local honey (good for building immunity towards allergies and for some reason every time I get styes in my eyes, they go away when I eat honey).

I laid in the grass for a bit. It was around 45 degrees out maybe? But it felt really good in the sun. I looked up the nearest art supply store and rode over to get the final supplies I needed to make a DIY lightbox. (I already stopped at Home Depot earlier this morning to pick up the light.) I ended up walking with my bike home from the art store because the bristol board was too big to fit in my bag and I didn’t want to clumsily ride my bike home. It was only like 25 minutes. I ventured all over my neighborhood today!
The rest of the day, I worked on assembling the lightbox. I’m not really sure I did it all correctly. I followed the instructions exactly, but its kind of hard to stand my subjects up in the box. Maybe I need a longer piece of bristol board for my background. Here’s how it came out:

looks fancy in the dark.

Looks pretty janky.
I’d say today was pretty productive even though I never got around to doing my laundry & going to the grocery store.
